Phillip Lucas specialises in defending all types of Road Traffic cases and is considered to be pre-eminent in this field.

He was called to the Bar in 1995 and has focussed exclusively on motoring law since 2002. He is known for his ability to identify defences in apparently “hopeless” cases. He has a reputation for tenacity and attention to detail and is well able to stand up to judicial pressure.

Phillip has long-standing, good working relationships with forensic toxicologists, breathalyser experts and accident reconstruction experts. He has developed an understanding of the relevant scientific principles which apply to these areas. He is up to date with the current issues with laboratory analyses and is fully conversant with the technical specifications of the different type approved instruments.
